Reticent on the nose though instantly recognizable as Sauvignon Blanc with its hints of grass, pineapple, and fig. Noticeably sweet in the mouth, this is a fruit forward popularly styled wine and for those who prefer sweet wines this carries its sugar fairly well. There’s plenty of acid to balance the sweetness, and the flavors remain in the green fruited, slightly figgy and citrus toned end of the spectrum.

Spice scent comes with a hint of vanilla bean. Fruit flavors of lime and fresh-cut pear are framed by an underlying minerality. As always with Willow Crest Pinot Gris, there is good penetration and length. - Paul Gregutt.

The 2010 Estate Riesling, sourced from an estate vineyard, it is an off-dry, Spἄtlese-style wine that finished at 9.5% alcohol, 4% residual sugar, and a pH of 3.01. The fruit is nicely framed by the vintage's excellent acidity which makes the wine seem drier than the numbers would suggest. Drink this tasty effort over the next 1-2 years.

Spicy and bursting with lime and fresh-cut pear, the estate-grown fruit displays a refreshing minerality. -Paul Gregutt, August 13, 2011

"Estate-grown from some of the oldest Pinot Gris vines in Washington, this Yakima Valley bottling highlights fresh herbs and sharp, juicy pear and apple fruit flavors. The vivid fruit is racy and tightly defined, and seems to gather strength and focus as it sits in the mouth. A spelndid effort that really sets the standard for Washington Pinot Gris." - Paul Gregutt, October 2010

Willow Crest 2007 Estate Pinot Gris is recommended in the June 2009 issue of Seattle Magazine and listed as the TOP VALUE Washington Pinot Gris in columnist Shannon Borg's picks for summer! Â "The 1,300 ft. elevation of David Minick's Prosser vineyard helps moderate the vineyard's temperature and ripen the Pinot Gris grapes slowly. This wine has fresh apple and pear flavors, a classic dry style perfect for sipping on a summer evening," said Borg.
